Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
I knew within my first year of pharmacy school that I wanted to take my career into the hospital setting. Having the opportunity to work as a pharmacy technician in both the retail and inpatient/hospital settings, I was able to explore my options and see multiple career tracks. I was intrigued by how the hospital setting allowed pharmacists to become involved in the decisions surrounding drug selection and doses, and it also allowed for patient interaction with medication counseling.
What attracted you to the Froedtert & MCW pharmacy residency program?
Froedtert Hospital has so many opportunities and specialties within its system, which affords its pharmacy residents a wide range of experiences. As an academic institution and adult Level I Trauma Center, Froedtert Hospital is perfectly positioned to train new professionals and help them create a solid foundation to ensure success once training is complete.
