Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
I have a strong desire to practice clinical pharmacy at a high level and at the forefront of my profession. While my pharmacy education gave me an excellent background of knowledge and some of the clinical skills needed to start my career, there is a great deal more I need to learn and master before I will be able to say that I am practicing at the top of my license. Completing a PGY1 and potentially a PGY2 residency training is the necessary next step in getting where I want to be in my career.
What attracted you to Froedtert’s pharmacy residency program?
Froedtert offers nearly every clinical specialty that a new graduate pharmacist could hope to expand his/her knowledge in. Completing my PGY1 residency at an academic medical center and adult Level 1 Trauma Center with an extremely progressive practice model gives me an opportunity to learn and practice with some of the best and most well-trained pharmacists in the country. The training and the freedom to make clinical decisions and interventions during my residency year allows me to really make a positive impact on patient care while continuously expanding my knowledge base and repertoire of clinical skills.
