Ear Tube Insertion
Eardrums are thin pieces of tissue deep in your child's ears. The space behind the eardrum is called the middle ear. It is connected to the back of the nose by a tube. This tube is called the eustachian tube. It allows air to fill this space and fluid to drain from the middle ear.
EBV Antibody
This test checks for antibodies to the Epstein-Barr virus. It often doesn't have any symptoms, but in teens and young adults, it can mononucleosis.
Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is a procedure in which ultrasonic sound waves are used to assess the heart's function and structures.
Electrocardiogram
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the simplest and fastest tests used to evaluate the heart. Electrodes (small, plastic patches that stick to the skin) are placed at certain locations on the chest, arms, and legs. When the electrodes are connected to an ECG machine by lead wires, the electrical activity of the heart is measured, interpreted, and printed out.
Electroencephalogram (EEG)
An EEG is a procedure that detects abnormalities in your brain waves, or in the electrical activity of your brain.
Electrolytes
This test measures the main electrolytes in your body: sodium, chloride, potassium, and carbon dioxide.
Electromyography
Electromyography measures your muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve’s stimulation of your muscle. The test is used to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities.
Electronystagmography (ENG)
Electronystagmography (ENG) is a test used to evaluate people with vertigo and certain other hearing and vision disorders. Vertigo is a false sense of spinning or motion that can cause dizziness.
Electrophysiological Studies
An electrophysiologic study uses small, thin wire electrodes placed directly on the heart to evaluate you for an abnormal heart rhythm.
Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial ablation is a procedure to remove a thin layer of tissue (endometrium) in the uterus. It is done to stop or reduce heavy menstrual bleeding. But it is only done on women who do not plan to have any children in the future.
