Froedtert Hospital Awards

Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital is an internationally recognized academic medical center located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Froedtert Hospital’s reputation for clinical excellence and research draws patients from around the world. It is eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center, working in tandem with the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Organization Awards

Froedtert Hospital ranks as the top hospital in Milwaukee and one of the top two hospitals in Wisconsin in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals list. Additionally, Froedtert Hospital ranks nationally in six specialties: endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology and urology. This places Froedtert Hospital among the top 50 U.S. hospitals in these areas. Froedtert Hospital also ranks as a national high performer in six specialties: cancer, cardiology, geriatrics, gynecology, neurology and orthopaedics.

Truven Health Analytics named Froedtert Hospital as a major teaching hospital among the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals®. The hospitals included in this list were recognized by the study’s authors for bringing higher value to their communities through better quality, higher efficiency and high perceptions of care.

Froedtert Hospital is the most-preferred hospital in southeastern Wisconsin, earning the National Research Corporation’s 2013/2014 Consumer Choice Award for the ninth consecutive year. Winning hospitals are those with the highest scores in four categories including best overall quality, best overall image and reputation, best doctors and best nurses.

Becker's Hospital Review placed Froedtert Hospital on its annual list of 100 Great Hospitals in 2013. According to Becker’s, these institutions show continuous improvement and are innovators of medical treatment, research, technology and care. Becker's also named Froedtert Hospital to its 2013 list of 100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Oncology Programs.

Froedtert Hospital received a Silver Medal of Honor for Organ Donation from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in 2012. The honor recognizes Froedtert’s Transplant Center for its post-transplant survival rates, transplant rates, and mortality rates after patients are placed on waiting lists.

Froedtert Hospital earned recognition by The Joint Commission as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for 2012, being recognized for attaining and sustaining performance excellence in the areas of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.

Doctor, Nurse Staff Awards

More than 300 Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin physicians were nominated by their peers for the Best Doctors in America® list. Thousands of physicians across the country are surveyed each year to identify the most-skilled specialists treating complex medical conditions. The 2014 list contains more physicians from the Medical College of Wisconsin than any other group practice or institution in Wisconsin.
