Visiting Guidelines

  • The baby’s father, grandparents and siblings are welcome anytime.
  • Other visitors are encouraged to visit between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Other than siblings, children under the age of 12 may visit with the patient’s permission but should remain in your suite while visiting.
  • People with colds, flu, and other illnesses will not be allowed into the Birth Center to safeguard the health of patients.
  • Families should allow important time for rest and learning about your baby by limiting the number of visitors or the length of their stay as appropriate.
  • Visitors should wash or sanitize their hands before and after visiting, especially when baby is in the room. An extra sink is located right by the door of your suite just for this purpose!

Phone Calls and Inquiries

  • Local and long distance calls, with a calling card, may be made from your room 24 hours a day.
  • To respect patient confidentiality, we are not permitted to give out any information over the phone (e.g. if you have been admitted, how the labor is going, or if you have had your baby yet). We recommend that you let your family and friends know about this policy.
  • Cell phone use is prohibited in most areas of the hospital.
