The Kathy Hospice is staffed 24-hours-a-day by a registered nurse and certified nursing assistants. Registered nurses have received special training in hospice care and in the use of medication to ease pain.

Volunteers assist with important day-to-day functions at the hospice. Personalized care is provided for each patient, addressing individual needs for emotional, physical, financial, social and spiritual support.

Specific services include:

  • Pain and symptom control
  • Counseling, social services and emotional support
  • Simple meal choices and comfort foods
  • Clergy counseling
  • Pets allowed for visitations
  • Alternative therapies such as music and spa
  • Massage therapy
  • Bereavement follow-up and grief counseling

Types of Care

Several types of care are offered at the Kathy Hospice, depending on the personal needs of individual patients and families:

Respite Care — Temporary, short-term care providing relief to family members who are caring for an individual outside of our facility.

Short-Term Inpatient Care — Acute care needed on a short-term basis to control pain or manage medical symptoms. Involves a higher level of nursing service and daily visits by a physician to monitor patient progress.

Residential Care — Full-time, end-of-life care within our facility. Care is provided for not only the patient, but also the patient’s family.

Home Residential Hospice Care — Hospice home care for patients in their place of residence.
