The BEE Award recognizes team members beyond nursing practice while complimenting the nursing-focused DAISY Award and Sunflower Award. It recognizes the extraordinary work of our clinical and nonclinical support team members who are essential to the care team. 

The BEE award was created to honor the loyal and hardworking nature of bees. It acknowledges how bees cannot exist without a flower as neither can a flower exist without the bee.

Award nominees display skill, devotion, compassion and enthusiasm by exemplifying the support our patients, their families and our team members recognize as an outstanding role model. This includes:

  • Positive attitude that inspires others
  • Promotes teamwork and connections among team members
  • Creates genuine connections as a patient advocate
  • Consistent strong work ethic and character integrity
  • Demonstrates Froedtert & MCW values and inclusion in all they do

Multiple times a year, each location will choose a qualifying team member to recognize with a team ceremony that includes a certificate of recognition, a BEE Award pin and a heartfelt gift.

Example: My family member was at a previous health center in the area. They were admitted into hospital to get pain under control. This took some time (consultation with doctors, social workers, holiday, etc.). In the interim, we needed to find a different facility that could effectively manage the care and comfort. The social worker went way above and beyond, providing a large net of alternative health care facilities that would ensure our goals in moving forward. After an exhaustive search, sending referrals, communicating with colleagues and follow up, we finally landed on a facility. She made sure the transportation and transition went without a hitch. She even called me later in the day to see how my family member was doing. In reviewing the requirements for this award, I firmly believe that she embodies the spirit and goals of your organization. We could not be happier with our time at Froedtert West Bend Hospital.
