Our mission is to create a secure and confidential environment that provides support, understanding and education for people with behavioral health issues and/or caring family members.
Individuals with any mental or behavioral health concerns are welcome.
This is an adults-only group. There is no fee and pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.
This group is co-facilitated by participants in attendance and a behavioral health professional; their role is to promote engagement within the group, support between participants and create a welcoming and safe environment for all.
This support group is not considered treatment; we strongly recommend that participants seek professional help for behavioral health issues.
Agenda
- Begins with brief group check-in led by behavioral health professional.
- Participants take turns discussing the past week, including successes and challenges, and provide support to one another. The behavioral health professional may choose to incorporate a relevant topic question for participants to discuss. Participants are strongly encouraged to be aware of time-management when speaking, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to share with the group.
- The behavioral health professional may provide an activity for participants to engage in, if time allows.
- Ends with a check-out question, typically “what is something you are looking forward to this week?”
Code of Conduct
- No talking about participants in your support group outside of the group.
- Do not share a participant's name and phone number without their consent.
- No posting private discussions or participant names on any social media, such as Facebook and others.
- Nothing shared within the group should be shared outside of the group.
- A participant’s permission to attend the support group is at the discretion of the behavioral health professional. Participants may be asked to leave if proven continuously disruptive.
- No phone use during meetings. If you need to take a call, please do so outside of the group room.
- If you must come late or leave early please do so quietly.
