Description

Participants learn how to reduce their risk of falling in this 7-week workshop. The first date will be the orientation session followed by 7 weeks of class.

  • Learn how to identify fall risk factors in the home and community.
  • Find out how to get up safely from a fall.
  • Learn adaptable strength and balance exercises.
  • See how footwear, medication and vision can affect ones risk for falling.

To take this workshop, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Age 60 and older
  • Can walk without assistance. Cane use okay, walker for outside use only
  • Cognitively aware
  • Live independently
