About

Dr. Beachnau was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University and earned a bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences in 2015. She received her doctor of optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2020. During her optometric training she was the first student extern at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin's Eye Institute. Dr. Beachnau enjoyed her time at MCW so much that she stayed on campus for her residency training. Dr. Beachnau graduated in 2021 as the first resident from the Children's Wisconsin & Medical College of Wisconsin pediatric optometry residency.

My care with the Vision department at Froedtert has been excellent every Visit !
This was my first appointment, as a referral, and I can't say enough about Dr. Beachnau. She was friendly, efficient, caring, and has a great sense of humor. We had a lot to discuss and I never felt rushed; she took the time to answer all of my questions in detail. I walked out of her office feeling very happy that I was referred her.

Everyone was outstanding! The tech/assistant who did the initial work with me was exceptionally professional, friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The doctor I saw was outstanding as well! Dr. Beachnau was very thorough, very professional, explained concepts in terms I could understand, made me feel heard and she genuinely cared! And the front desk staff was wonderful at check in and at check out. As well, as I was leaving the exam room, the other workers not involved in my care at all were very warm and friendly. What a great office! Thank you for the GREAT service!

The triage nurse encouraged a visit on the day I called, and got back to me very quickly with an appointment. I expressed my gratitued to the tech and doctor for seeing me so quickly given the patient load they carry, and they were very gracious. I had to cancel my original appointment the day of the appointment because of a positive Covid test and sore throat. I worried about the late cancellation but there was no problem with that, and rescheduling a new appointment was easy. Everyone at Froedtert is always so friendly and accommodating. Thank you!
