About

Binod Dhakal, MD, MS, is Associate Professor of Medicine, at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Division of Hematology, specializing in multiple myeloma and plasma cell disorders. He graduated from Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara Nepal in 2004, completed Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Francis Hospital Evanston Illinois, and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he also served as a Chief Fellow. Prior to joining the fellowship, he was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Medical College in Wisconsin in the Division of General Internal Medicine. He has authored numerous publications, including journal articles, meeting abstracts and book chapters. He has also won several awards during his fellowship which include the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award; Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) research award; Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research (CSCTR) best oral abstract and travel trainee award; American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT) clinical research training course; and, Outstanding Medical School Teacher award. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Mazie Froedtert Willms and Sue Froedtert Cancer Scholarship, and obtained his Master’s Degree in Clinical and Translational Science. His current research interests focus on novel drug treatments for patients with multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders by designing and conducting early phase clinical trials.
