About

Dr. Fareau is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Clinical Nutrition. He graduated with Honors from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He completed a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Endocrinology at the Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center joint program, where his educational interests included diagnostic and treatment strategies of endocrine cancers. He joined the Faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2007.

Dr Farreau is an incredibly kind, wonderful doctor. I'm sure he sees a ton of patients every day but he always seems to remember me. He takes my questions seriously and always is prompt if I send a question on my chart. I really appreciate the whole team.

Dr Fareau is the reason we drive from Illinois, home of some of the finest medical institutions. He is simply the most empathetic care provider we've ever had, on top of his second to none expertise in my type of cancer.
My appointment was moved without my knowledge or notification. I was able to get to the appointment but I had to take off of work to get to to it when I originally scheduled it on an off day. Communication regarding appointments is terrible. The medical assistant was great and Dr. Farreau is too.
Dr. Fareau is a fantastic doctor. Very thorough is his explanation of lab results, diagnostic scans, etc., and their relevance to my health and treatment plan. He is also very flexible in when I schedule a visit with him, allowing me to shift my appointment with him to a day when I am seeing another doctor in the cancer center. In my attempts to do this, the scheduler told me that they would call me back to make a new appointment and never did. The scheduler also gave me misinformation with regards to when the doctor was available closer to the end of the week.
This was a follow-up appointment mostly to determine if medication dosage is correct. All is stable and well.
I was greatly impressed by my initial consultation - my opinion may change after jamming six needles into me during my biopsy! He was incredibly thorough, non-rushed, reviewed multiple past scans, and was very good at detailing the next steps and setting my mind at ease. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Faraeu listened to my concerns about the pain I have been experiencing. He also thoroughly showed me my CT scan results and went over my lab work results with me. He explained his POC for me and how to treat the cancer on my left rib. Dr. Faraeu is very thorough and also instructed me to let him know if I needed stronger pain medication through all this. He is a terrific doctor!!
My overall health experience was wonderful. I really enjoyed my visits. I'm glad to have had the pleasure of his knowledge and support.

Dr Fareau is an incredibly knowledgeable and caring doctor. He always takes the time to explain things in an understandable way and to answer questions in a thoughtful way. I would highly recommend him to anyone going through thyroid cancer. He is a valuable asset to the Hope Center.
