Dr. Gehl is a Medical College of Wisconsin internist and pediatrician. Originally from the Milwaukee area, he completed medical school in Chicago at Rush Medical College followed by an internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is motivated to provide comprehensive primary care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults in a manner that works for each individual patient or family with the hopes of developing long term patient-doctor relationships built on good communication and shared decision-making.

I needed a personal care physician because my old one is no longer in insurance. Dr. Gehl Reviewed my past health history as well as my family history. Very professional. I'm lucky to have him as a doctor.

Provider was very attentive, knowledgeable, and offered good suggestions for my health related questions. In all I thought the care was excellent and I can't really as for more than that.

His nurse was extremely kind and friendly. I arrived early to my appointment and he took me right away. I had additional care that was needed and he addressed those concerns at this appointment rather then making me come back another day. This care was very much appreciated.

Dr. Gehl is an excellent physician and I enjoy and respect his professionalism and care. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a primary care physician.

I had been 4 days into my illness. Sore throat, migraine, back pain, eye pain. All I was told was to take 3 Advil and that should help with the migraine and back pain. Also my throat was sore because or possible drainage from my nose. I possibly had allergies. Over the next 3 days I take the Advil, NyQuil, Sudafed, Loratadine Pills and Nasalcort. Monday I wake up to crusty eyes and nose. Mucus went from clear to thick yellow throat still sore. I call in with my symptoms and ask for antibiotics. I was told no that would have had to come in again which is ridiculous. At the first appt he could have swabbed my nose and throat for possible infection. Nobody has money or time to waste on extra appts. Here it is 10 days later and I still have a sore throat

This was an initial visit, and I was very impressed both by Dr. Gehl's willingness to spend time with me in a way that felt relaxed and by his knowledge of my medical record.

Dr. Gehl was thorough and kind. He messaged me the very next morning about my lab results and explained everything very clearly. I felt like I was making a very informed decision about my health, which is incredibly important to me!

Had 7:45am appointment; I was told to be there 15 minutes early to fill out paper work. I did not get in to the room till 8:15 and waited another 10 minutes for the Doctor. Then had to get blood drawn. I checked in there and sat for over 45 minutes to hour. According to the them they "FORGOT ABOUT ME" I DID NOT GET OUT OF THERE TILL ALMOST 10am! THAT IS RIDICULES!!

Dr. Gehl gave me MyChart information on the lab tests and his comments on the significance. He even gave me a personal phone call within hours after the last kidney exam to tell me the results. I am so impressed.

I was very dissatisfied with the lack of patient/customer service by the receptionist I spoke with when calling to schedule my appointment. I called first thing in the morning (after having sent a MyChart message the previous day that went unanswered). I asked to speak with my doctor's nurse about a pressing medical issue. Before taking my name or any other information down, the receptionist told me that I would not hear back for 24-hours, which meant the following Monday because I called on a Friday morning. I asked to speak to a different provider or nurse if my provider/his nurses were busy that day. The receptionist told me that any of the nurses would have up to 24-hours (thus over the weekend) to respond to me. This messaging (lack of care or sufficient staff to respond to patient issues) was very poor when someone is calling in the morning about a pressing medical issue - particularly when I had sent a MyChart message more than 24-hours prior. We are considering looking for a new primary care doctor because we have not been impressed with the patient/customer care at your clinic. I am happy with my provider, but I need to know that I can reach a health care professional during business hours if needed. When the first thing I am told when I call your office is - "You probably won't hear back for a couple of days" - that is when I know that I probably should take my business elsewhere.

I would have given *Dr. Gehl a "10," except that implies perfection - nowhere to go but down *Dr. Gehl was EXCELLENT. I'm in search of a new doctor, as mine is retiring.

The care provided was very good as was the service provided by all personell. My comment is about this survey. It is in desperate need of revision! You cannot expect your patients to willingly spend this much time on something so cumbersome no matter how much they like their physician and the other employees.
