My goal is to provide high quality clinical care to prevent vision loss in patients with uveitis and retinal conditions. During the clinic visit, I enjoy getting to know my patients and their backgrounds so I can offer tailored treatment plans. I use advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities and collaborate with my colleagues at the Eye Institute and specialists at the Medical College of Wisconsin to develop optimum treatment plans for patients with complex medical and eye conditions.

About

Dr. Joon-Bom (Albert) Kim grew up in central Illinois and Korea. He received his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, and his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He then completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at University of Rochester. Following this, he completed two ophthalmology fellowships: first in uveitis and ocular inflammation at University of Washington and second in medical retina at Duke University. After training in different regions of the country, he is excited to return to the Midwest and join faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

The Doctor and staff were receptive to my concerns, questions, and comments and were very engaged in my understanding of what they were doing, and what was going to happen. I'm very pleased with the overall experience you have provided both my wife, with her needs and my own.

Appointment on time. All testing was done in a professional manner and I felt confident with Dr. Kim and his staff's treatment of my eye issues.
I liked that he used laymens turms with me so that I could understand what he was saying to me and not wondering what it all ment. He was very down to earth and explained everything to where I could understand it. I had no need to ask questions he answered them all when he was explaining my eye condition and what could of caused the inflamation and other causes as well. He is being causious and wants to see me one more time just in case he missed something the first appointment. I like that he wants to make sure he did not miss anything.

Fro my eye sections, most of the procedure is preparation, done by subordinates. Most of my answers apply to them. Their personalities vary, an all do their job. Dr. Kim is pleasant. He jabs quickly, minimizing the pain. Often, I don't actually see him; occasionally I'll get a chance to talk briefly with him.
The care I received from Dr. Kim was better than the care I received from any other provider I have used in the past.
My situation was kind of an emergency. I got in within a couple hours of making my first call, and spent a good part of the afternoon working through sign in, diagnosis, and treatment, all before I went home.
