About

Dr. Hughes was raised in Wauwatosa, and went to Carleton College in Minnesota thinking he might pursue a career in science. However, he found he needed to interact more regularly with those in need and also that the science of medicine was more interesting and challenging to him. Before starting medical school, he worked as an intern at the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin and earned an MS in Human Nutrition at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Hughes graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2015 and completed his residency training in Milwaukee at Columbia St Mary’s Family Medicine Residency in 2018.

Dr. Hughes was completely prepared for our visit and knew my medical history. It was my 2nd visit with him it felt like he had been my doctor for 20 years. I appreciated that.

Dr Hughes listened intently to my needs and took as much time as needed to understand where I am presently with my health. He supported my health by our talking about things I can do and things that we can follow up on in the coming months. My wife and I were very satisfied with the entire care team.

I appreciate that Dr. Hughes did a thorough check up and retested my BP after an initial high reading with the nurse. He checked out several of my concerning moles and talked to me about prophylaxis for altitude sickness in an open, personable way. It is difficult choosing a new doctor - I am very happy that I made the right decision.
