I seek to listen and understand. To cure if we can; and treat for comfort if we can't. To care, always.

Since joining Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2002, Dr. Santo Tomas has led teams tasked to improve patient care and outcomes for hospital and clinic patients. Though he sees a wide variety of respiratory diseases, colleagues in pulmonary medicine have particularly sought his assistance and second opinion on patients with work-related lung disease, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary complications in hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients. He has been voted by his peers to the Best Doctors list every year since 2005.

I did not leave with an understanding of what happened to my lungs April of 2017 and how that has affected me up to the present. I felt I received the same treatment from this Dr that I did from my normal pulmonologist and wondered why I was here. My questions were not answered.

I neglected to manually record notes during my visit with the physician since I thought his comments would be summarized in the printout I recived after my appointment. Once I looked at the printout and at the on-line portal summary, I noticed only my basic information was included. It would be good for the patient to know he/she needed to take detailed notes ... i.e. specific possible illness mechanisms and potential outcomes.
