About

Dr. Krucoff is a board-certified neurosurgeon-scientist who specializes in complex operations that remove tumors from critical parts of the brain. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr. Krucoff then completed neurosurgical residency at Duke University in Durham, NC, followed by a year-long fellowship in functional neurosurgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) – two of the highest volume surgical brain tumor centers in the world.

As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Krucoff integrates cutting-edge technological advancements into his practice to optimize outcomes for his patients. His excellent surgical technique and bedside manner have been recognized by his peers throughout his career, earning him the prestigious Surgical Excellence Award from Duke and election into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society at George Washington University. As a scientist, Dr. Krucoff runs an NIH-funded laboratory examining how the brain adapts to maintain its function around invasive tumors, and he is developing an electrical stimulation technique to help remap and protect brain function. Dr. Krucoff's scientific pursuits have also earned him widespread recognition, including election into the Robert J. Lefkowitz Society for physician-scientists at Duke and the Tau Beta Pi (TBP) honor society for engineers at Northwestern. Additionally, he has authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles to date.
