My goal is to work with each patient to develop an individualized plan for lifelong health and well-being. This plan should be evidence-based and effective, but also personalized to allow the patient the freedom to enjoy life as she or he chooses.

About

Steve was born in Chicago, IL. The son of a police officer and a medical transcriptionist, he is the youngest of five children. He attended Knox College in Galesburg, IL for his undergraduate degree and the University of Illinois for his medical degree. He completed his residency training in combined internal medicine and pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After residency, he served as Chief Resident for the med-peds residency and will continue to be involved in academic medicine as Associate Program Director for the residency. Steve and his wife, a historian, have one son, one daughter, and one dog. In his spare time, he loves reading, traveling, watching old movies and running. Given that Milwaukee is his adopted home, he frequently attends Brewers game and is a true Crew fan, though his first team will always be his beloved Chicago White Sox.

I felt Dr. Malcom took the time to address all my concerns - including the ones I have about my immediate family. That is really critical. As a mother- my mental health depends on having ALL my questions answered as a Dr. is able. If helping me think through my family member's health concerns is not his job, then he's not my doctor.

I believe the wait time was fair for the provider as I know that he always spends quality time with each patient. Even though he didn't see me within 15 minutes of my appointment time I still believe him to be one of the best providers I've ever experienced.
Nov. 20, 2019
Dr. Malcolm is always pleasant, talks so we understand and listens to our concerns. He is awesome. Only complaint I have is with PASRs check in was fine. Had to wait longer than anticipated as 4 patients were ahead of us and there were only 2 staff members. Upon leaving I had to make next appointment. One PASR was busy and the other had a bit of an attitude when she called me to her station.

This appointment for my young daughter was excellent! Dr Malcolm and his staff responded directly to her questions and concerns. She was treated as the patient rather then the staff asking me, the mom, the questions about her health. I was especially impressed how Dr Malcolm sat down with her to discuss body care in a thoughtful, understandable way without her feeling uncomfortable. His nursing staff was excellent with giving her the flu shot, despite my daughter's obvious discomfort with the idea. The front desk staff were inviting and pleasant, quick to check us in and answer any questions, especially Lorna. Thanks everyone!!!

Dr. Malcolm had an excellent knowledge of pertinent details in my medical record, citing them in our conversation about my health history and current status. Is quite responsive to my questions and comments, and clearly tailored his medical exam to check on recent health issues that I brought up.

The entire visit was tremendous, from check-in to check-out. Receptionist extremely nice. Medical assistant (La'Kameral Wade) was professional, friendly and very comforting. Dr. Malcom was his usual friendly, caring, professional, personable and compassionate self. There is no one better in my mind.

I really appreciated the call from the doctor after my appointment, updating me on my test results. I felt he had a genuine concern for my well being. Not something I've always experienced, certainly first time call back from a doctor which was a pleasant surprise. I'm a new patient for Stephen Malcom and both visits excellent. Great check in staff and great nursing assistants.
