About

Dr. Thomas Connor earned his bachelor's degree from Haverford College in Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After completing a medical internship at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Dr. Connor returned to Baltimore to complete his ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He came to Milwaukee and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) for a fellowship in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. Following completion of his fellowship, he returned to the Wilmer Eye Institute/Johns Hopkins Hospital to serve as assistant chief of service/director of ocular trauma service. He was pleased to return to the MCW Eye Institute and the department of ophthalmology in 1994 and has been here since, currently serving as professor of ophthalmology and director of the Vitreoretinal Fellowship Program. He enjoys his role in academic ophthalmology with a busy clinical and surgical practice while also serving as an educator — teaching medical students, residents, fellows, other physicians and the community at large. He is most pleased with his active research collaborations with his fellow colleagues on the retina service and the MCW Advanced Ocular Imaging Program (AOIP).

Dr. Connor is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, but has transitioned well into a Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. He and his wife, Sue, are active in scouting and coaching youth sports, and they are the proud parents of triplets.

We waited 2.5 hours to see the doctor. With no reason other than he is very good at his job and takes patients according to when he wants to see them. Regardless of appointment time. I think waiting 2 hours after having seen the assistant for dilation drops and eye scan with no explanation was not acceptable.
Quality of care is excellent! Dr Connor and his staff are as good as it gets. There efforts are very much appreciated.
I'm am always pleased with the care given to me by everyone!!! Outstanding service!!
Thanks for caring.
All of the personnel were friendly and explained what was happening and why.. The doctor is very nice and helpful in explaining my condition.
Everyone from the receptionists were friendly and professional.
Wait between seeing first person and Dr was over an hour we were almost ready to leave feeling we were forgotten as others seeing the same Dr ,who came in after us, were called in before us. Annoying. Dr Connor was very knowledgeable and loved th way he explained everything. Only gave a 5 because of the very long wait.
Dr. Conner is a great doctor. Always thorough & efficient.
I am so lucky to have Dr. Conner taking care my eyes. He is great!
Always a pleasure.
I started out going to another retinal surgeon for my problem. Then my ophthalmologist sent me to Dr. Conner. What a wonderful difference. Dr. Conner's staff explained every test. (What it was for and what was going to happen before the test was done). The resident sat down with me and asked what my problem was and what my concerns were. When I got to see Dr. Conner after he looked at all the tests, he gave me an eye exam and than he actually sat down and explained everything to me & asked me if I had any questions. I got none of that in the other Dr's office. I am so impressed.
Dr Connors care and concern for me as his patient is beyond expectation. He is one of the best!
I'm grateful for the care that Dr. Conner and his staff provided. I would recommend him to family and friends.
The experience was exceptional -the quality of the information and tests was only exceeded by the level of caring and concern - a most comforting visit! Thank you.
Do Connor is an excellent physician whom I thoroughly trust with my eyesight. Never let him retire,
Dr. Connor is an incredibly talented surgeon with extremely good Bedside manner. Those two qualities don't always go hand in hand!
Dr Connor is the best ! The wait times are awful. An appointment is always over 2 hours long
The overall care I receive every time I come to the Eye Institute is above average. From the time you walk in downstairs to the time your walking out! Dr. Conner is through and funny at times doctor. Which I love since he's going to be sticking a needle in my eye. All and all I talj to to alot of people in one day and I will always recommend the Eye Institute & Froedtert Medical College of Wisconsin to anyone needing Eye or Vision care.
Dr. Connor and his staff have always been kind, courteous, and very considerate of all of my needs for keeping my eyesight, healthy, and helping to prolong my eyesight because of the diabetic problems. They are a godsend.
I appreciate the time Dr. Connor takes with me and explain things I'm concerned about and explains so I fully understand.
Staff were all excellent, including Dr. Connor. I've come to expect the wait time for Dr Connor as he must be delayed on more emergent cases. This was a longer wait to see Dr. Connor than usual.
There seemed to be a very large number of patients waiting to be cared for. Many hours were spent waiting to be seen. As is always the case, the quality of care was superior.
Dr Connor is an excellent physician whom I trust to care for my eyes.
I arrived at the facility at 7:30 am as instructed, but didn't go into the surgery room until after 11 am. I relaxed peacefully while waiting, but could hear all of the interactions between the patients on the other side of the curtains and their providers. No confidentiality. The team that assisted in my surgery, including Dr. Connor and his assistant, the nurses, the anesthesiology team, etc were exceptional. I was awake during the entire procedure and to me things went flawlessly. I would strongly recommend this facility to others. Thank you.
I know Dr. Connor is very well respected and his practice is in high demand. On this visit he was running an hour behind schedule. I was informed of the delay when I checked in and willingly accepted the delay as I value and desire his expertise.
Everyone gave me the best of care. I would highly recommend this team to them.
The doctor examined me carefully and listened to my concerns and was great.
There was no after visit report regarding my condition. An explanation of what my condition is and what to expect in the future would be helpful.
Dr Connor and his staff are excellent.
I will lament the day that Dr. Conner chooses to eventually retire.
