About
Tracy S. Wang, MD, MPH, FACS, is a Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair of Strategic and Professional Development. She leads the Department’s CAPTAINS (Career Advancement and Professional Training Academy IN Surgery) course.
Dr. Wang completed her residency in General Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and her fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at Yale University. She is a board-certified general surgeon and holds a Focused Practice Designation in Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery from the American Board of Surgery, recognizing advanced training and experience in the management of complex endocrine conditions. Her clinical practice focuses on surgical diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, including inherited endocrine syndromes. Dr. Wang has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and serves as an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Surgery. She also serves on the Editorial Boards of World Journal of Surgery, Surgery, JCEM Case Reports, and VideoEndocrinology.
She is the Central Surgical Association’s Representative to the American College of Surgeons’ Board of Governors. She is the Chair of the Society of University Surgeons’ Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee. She is on the Executive Council for the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons, is the past-Treasurer of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) and Secretary-Elect of the AAES Foundation. She is a past-President of the Society of Asian Academic Surgeons.
