Examples of the Academic-Community Model
Through the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Network, cancer care is provided in the community hospital setting whenever possible. If patients need a specialized treatment, they may connect with the Clinical Cancer Center on the Froedtert Hospital campus — and return home for follow-up care. Through this connection, the Cancer Network brings more communities direct access to nationally and internationally known specialists who focus on specific cancers, advanced treatments and technologies, and clinical trials that may provide further options.
