Cancer Center Features

The Cancer Center at Mequon Health Center offers the convenience of receiving some of your treatment close to home. As part of the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network, we offer access to comprehensive cancer treatment for patients with certain cancer diagnoses. 

Treatment options include chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies (medical oncology) and consultations with cancer surgeons (surgical oncologists). Radiation therapy is available at additional Cancer Network locations, including Menomonee Falls and West Bend. Your care team will help you find a location that is convenient for you.

If highly specialized treatment is needed, including clinical trials, patients may receive care at the Clinical Cancer Center at the Froedtert Hospital campus, and return to their own community for ongoing or follow-up care. Nurses, advanced practice providers and experienced cancer pharmacists are always available to make sure your treatment plan is effective, while managing any quality of life issues.

Because our physicians are part of the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network, you have access to an entire team of experts who support you through the physical, emotional and economic issues that may arise with cancer and its treatment. I cannot believe how impressive Dr. Istl is. Not only is she a top surgical oncologist, but she is so much more. Dr. Istl has an old school "bedside manner". She has deep empathy for my situation and I never felt like just a "patient". She is great at communication and that relieves any anxiety I have. I have never seen her have anything but the utmost respect for everyone around her. It is truly a gift to have her as my doctor.
Very impressed with Ms. Lunde. She was very easy to talk to, she brought up topics that I did not think of and made necessary referrals. She did not rush me and took the time needed to explain everything and thoroughly answer my questions.
Dr. Thomas is one of my favorite people. He's an excellent doctor and sees his patients as whole people.
