The Commission on Cancer, a quality program of the American College of Surgeons, has named Froedtert West Bend Hospital a recipient of the 2017 year-end Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award.

The Cancer Center at Froedtert West Bend Hospital campus offers a calming, healing environment that serves the unique needs of cancer patients for privacy, specialty treatment, individualized, coordinated care, convenience and compassion.

The Cancer Center features advanced technology and important services for our cancer patients.

  • Infusion options: All rooms are private and offer comfortable recliners and natural lighting for patients while they are receiving treatment.
  • New patient coordinator: The new patient coordinator gathers records and coordinates initial appointments for patient convenience and efficiency.
  • Small Stones Wellness Center: Located in the lobby of the Cancer Center at Froedtert West Bend Hospital, Small Stones supports the healing process by helping cancer patients enhance their appearance, promoting relaxation and boosting self-esteem. Small Stones also offers wellness classes.

As part of the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network, the Cancer Center at Froedtert West Bend Hospital campus offers the expertise of Medical College of Wisconsin cancer specialists to patients in West Bend and the surrounding communities. When needed, highly specialized treatments and additional clinical trials are available through a connection to the Clinical Cancer Center on the Froedtert Hospital campus.

Doctor showed an excellent amount of concern, was very clear in all explanations. Made me feel very much at ease in spite of my diagnosis.

Dr Burfeind is a wonderful doctor and he provides excellent I have ways well cared for during my cancer
Professional & knowledgeable staff. Know about fields of medicine & treatment other than hemotology. Even phlebotamist knew her job so well she asked which arm & used regular needle with no pain for me or bruising & I am on meds that increase likelihood of bruising. Even cafeteris staff was accommodating to me daughter & grandchildren. Front desk scheduled 4 addl appts quickly & RN staff chdcked with insurance receiving + response before finished talking to Dr.
I have a concern of legs swelling and Dr. Longo has offered lymphedema therapy which may help to see if there Is anything else that I can learn that would be helpful. It was a good appointment because I am closer to 5 years cancer free.

Dr. Mooney always makes sure that he has addressed all of our concerns and answers all of our questions.
From the time of walking in the clinic to leaving has been a positive experience. Dr. Burfeind takes the time to listen and we work on the treatment that is best for me. He makes sure all is understood before I leave. Dr. Burfeind is very caring and his nurses are the kindest and most comforting.
Best care anywhere
Dr. LANGANSTROER and his support staff are.exceptional in their cohesive work as a team both by phone and in office. As a recent Cancer patient who will now be interacting with them.all...for years as together we work to help me on ny journey...this comfort and professionalism is simply immeasurable. Please..thank them.
I had 1 lab appt n 2 with medical appts this last time. I drive four hours to get my appointments so before I leave the clinic one of the people at check out makes great (and successful) efforts to get my lab & medical appointments all on the same day within 2 hrs. Also, once I'm in an examining room, several times, when ahead of schedule, the professional I am having the office visit with let the professional for my next office visit know that her office visit with me is completed and what room I'm in and several times the next professional has come in for that office visit if they're running ahead of schedule. ( This is wonderful because I have a 4 hour drive home.) In spite of this efficiency, I don't feel short changed on any interaction, time for questions, concerns, or discussion of past, current, or future conditions, issues, meds, choices, etc. I never feel like a number. Overall. I find 95% of the cancer center personnel and caregivers I have met with since I began getting care there to be very mindful of their patients' medical needs and act as a team that operates as smoothly as a well oiled machine with timely patient care a TOP priority.
Excellent provider. Listens and provides reasonable options. Neutral bedside manner, but given the gravity of the condition of his patients, this is to be expected. In fact, I kind of appreciate it.
I was very impressed with the time that each person spent with me. I know they have other patients and things going on but I did not "feel" like they had anything else going on and had come to work that day solely for me. It's impressive to be able to convey that feeling by one person, but to feel it from all four people that came into the room that day is really great to see!
The degree of care and concern for my condition was extraordinary. From the scheduling,nurses,and doctor were second to none. The care given was comforting in helping my recovery. I am grateful for such good people you have on the staff!
