What is the difference between MyChart and MyChart Bedside?
MyChart and MyChart Bedside work together. While you are in the hospital or Emergency Department, MyChart Bedside appears as a feature within MyChart. It lets you keep track of your daily schedule and view care team bios, test results and educational information about your condition. MyChart can be accessed anytime to make or view clinic appointments with your care team, and see your health history, test results and more.

How do I access MyChart Bedside?
MyChart Bedside automatically appears in your MyChart account while you are in the hospital or Emergency Department. To access MyChart Bedside, log in to your MyChart account through the Froedtert & MCW app or on your computer at froedtert.com/mychart. Then click the "View Hospital Stay" button on the homepage.

Who is MyChart Bedside available for?
MyChart Bedside is available for patients visiting the Emergency Department or staying in the hospital, as well as anyone they grant proxy access to. By granting proxy access, loved ones can see information about your hospital stay even when they are not there in person.

What test results will I see using MyChart Bedside?
By default, MyChart Bedside will only show results from tests you were given during this visit. Test results from tests you were given outside of this visit are available in your standard MyChart account.

Will MyChart Bedside be available if I am moved from the Emergency Department to stay in the hospital?
Yes, MyChart Bedside is available for both Emergency Department visits and hospital stays.

I just moved from the Emergency Department to the hospital, why can’t I see MyChart Bedside?
Sometimes it takes time for your patient status to update in our system. Once our system shows your status as “inpatient”, which means you are staying in the hospital, MyChart Bedside will appear in your MyChart account.

What should I do if I don’t understand something I’m seeing in MyChart Bedside?
Please talk to your care team if you have any questions about the information you are seeing in your account. We want to make sure you understand your condition and the care you are receiving.

I have other issues or diagnoses that I do not see listed. Why don’t these appear in MyChart Bedside?
The issues and diagnoses in your MyChart Bedside account are specific only to this hospital or Emergency Department visit. If there are additional issues you feel should be addressed during this visit, please let your care team know.

How do I grant proxy access?
Tap your name at the top of the MyChart Bedside screen to access your account information then select “Manage Access.” Select “Invite an Adult Proxy” then enter their information when prompted.

Is there a fee to use MyChart Bedside?
No. There is no cost to use MyChart Bedside during your Emergency Department visit or hospital stay.
