Milwaukee — Press Ganey has recognized the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network as a 2023 Human Experience (HX) Guardian of Excellence Award® winner, recognition sustained for six consecutive years. As a leader in the health care industry, Press Ganey notes that the Cancer Network signifies the best practices businesses should consider in 2024.
The Cancer Network offers many disease-specific cancer programs, including a program dedicated to treating rare cancers. Its six locations are anchored by the unparalleled resources of eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center.
The award is part of Press Ganey’s annual ranking of top hospitals and health systems in the country, according to performance in patient experience. Press Ganey’s mission is to reduce patient suffering and enhance caregiver resilience to improve the overall safety, quality and experience of care.
“For six years running, the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network has been recognized by Press Ganey for delivering a consistently positive patient experience,” said Tina Curtis, vice president of Froedtert & MCW Cancer Services. “Our Cancer Network continues to rank in the top 5% of the 41,000 health care facilities in Press Ganey’s national database. Sustaining a top rating speaks to the dedication of our staff, physicians and clinicians. At what is often the most difficult period in our patients’ lives, the people who make up our Cancer Network consistently deliver meaningful care coupled with compassion. We are humbled to know that more than 93% of our patients say they would recommend us.
"We recognize the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network as a top-performing leader in health care for its commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO and chairman at Press Ganey. “It understands the importance of placing patients, health care professionals and industry partners at the core of our work. This Cancer Network turns words into action by fostering a future where exceptional health care experiences are not just goals, but tangible achievements."
“The award represents an important recognition from an industry leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care,” said Cathy Jacobson, CEO, Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc. “Sustaining our rating in the 95th percentile for six years running is a direct result of ongoing work we’re doing to exceed our patients’ expectations during their cancer experience, as well as intensive surveys that measure patients’ overall rating of the care and teamwork of our physicians and clinicians.”
