During the pandemic, Johnikin realized she had a passion for mentoring youth and launched As I Am Mentoring Inc. in June 2022. Wisconsin woman finds hope after clinical trial for cancer treatment

Amanda Kong, MD, Froedtert & MCW oncologist, worked to get Linda into a clinical trial where her radiation before surgery was done with the Elekta Unity MR-linac machine. The trial was able to cut down the amount of times she had to go in for treatment by less than half. For Lavold, that meant a lot to her so she could continue her active lifestyle.
