Progressive, high acuityWhat attracted you to Froedtert Hospital’s PGY2 program?
The level of pharmacy practice in Froedtert’s emergency department is as high as any in the country with a heavy dependence on pharmacists and an expectation of excellence. This is not something that can be easily advertised on the website as it needs to be experienced. The focus on toxicology is unique, and staffing the ED as a PGY2 is something many programs can’t provide. I was looking for a challenging program, and I feel that I will be prepared for any position after completing this program.

Advice for Potential PGY2 Candidates
Reflect on your experiences and how they shaped your practice so that you know what you want from your potential preceptors as a PGY2. Going through the match for a second time will be as challenging as it is rewarding. Only look at programs that genuinely excite you and treat every inconvenience as an opportunity and you’ll make it through.
