PGY2 Residency Project
Pharmacist-Driven Patient-Centered Deprescribing in a Palliative Oncology Population
Why did you choose to pursue a residency?
I always knew I wanted to practice at the top of my license and collaborate with both physicians and patients. I also identified oncology as my passion area early on. Residency has helped me build on the clinical and professional skills I need to be successful as an oncology pharmacist.
What attracted you to the Froedtert & MCW pharmacy residency program?
The Froedtert & MCW program is ahead of its time when it comes to outpatient oncology pharmacy services – few other institutions have the same level of clinical pharmacist integration into oncology clinics. This fit perfectly with my passion for the outpatient setting. In addition, the Froedtert & MCW health network is focused on continually improving patient care, which aligned well with my desire to hone my quality improvement skills. Finally, I absolutely loved my interactions with the residents, preceptors and residency leaders at Froedtert Hospital! Working alongside outstanding people can make a residency year much easier.

Hobbies
I love being outside and will do pretty much anything to be out of the house: running, biking, backpacking, camping and even sailing and skiing when I get the chance. I also enjoy cooking and have made dishes from every continent from scratch (except Antarctica).
Favorite Things to Do in Milwaukee
I live on the East Side, and I love running and biking along the trails by the lakeshore. Summertime in Milwaukee is truly gorgeous. I also love all the live music and breweries around the city!
