What attracted you to Froedtert Hospital's PGY2 program?

I was attracted to Froedert’s EM Program immediately because of the personalities of the pharmacists I interacted with during an Open House recruitment opportunity. Their kindness, enthusiasm, optimism and passion for teaching were obvious and exciting. Subsequently the experiences afforded by this program including the longitudinal toxicology rotation and six-month Flight for Life opportunity set this program apart from others. I wanted to train within an emergency department with integrated and hands-on pharmacy practice, and I felt that Froedtert was the perfect fit. Froedtert has a reputation for developing strong, well-rounded pharmacists, and I am thankful to be a part of that!

Professional Interests

Research, precepting, medication safety, and leadership

Hobbies

In my free time you can find me somewhere outside with my dog and husband, taking care of my plants, playing Spades at a beer garden or snowboarding.

Favorite Things to Do in Milwaukee

I have enjoyed exploring the lakefront, the trail by the Milwaukee River, Milwaukee’s food and beer scene (especially Eagle Park and Good City), and Brewers games!

Advice for Potential PGY2 Candidates

The best way to maintain momentum for a second year of residency is to be led and taught by pharmacists who value you as a person and have maintained passion for their practice and for teaching. Look for programs that have pharmacists whose careers and lives outside of work resemble ones you’d also like to have post-residency!
