ABB, a leading global technology company with a manufacturing location in New Berlin, is a participant in our Workforce Health Wellness programs. Kylie Turner, senior HSE specialist, ABB, shares how this is working for the company and its team.
Q. What type of employee wellness programs and activities do you offer? How have you partnered with Workforce Health to support employee well-being?
Workforce Health is a critical component of ABB New Berlin’s wellness program. Our program offers work-related injury case management as well as non-work-related injury care to ensure our employees have the necessary information to lead a healthy lifestyle. Workforce Health offers our employees routine weekly stretch breaks and wellness communications across our site.
Q. What benefits do you see to the organization and employees as a result of these efforts?
A work-related or non-work-related injury can escalate into a severe injury if not managed closely. Thanks to our partnership with Workforce Health we often avoid escalation because care is provided early, keeping our employees safer and healthier. ABB employees love the convenience of getting health care at work rather than taking time off or using personal time.
Q. What advice do you have for a business just starting employee wellness initiatives?
Employees are happier and work culture improves by having Workforce Health on site. By keeping employees safer and healthier we reduce the amount of time they are out of work and boost productivity. The partnership with Workforce Health to manage injury cases, and provide preventive care and ergonomic support is highly beneficial.
