Becoming a Volunteer

After you submit your application, we will review it and, if selected, will contact you for an interview. If you are accepted into the program, you must successfully complete these onboarding requirements before volunteering.

  • Background check
  • Occupational Health screening, including immunization review, TB test and seasonal flu vaccinations
  • Volunteer Services orientation
  • Department-specific training

Hospital Volunteer Age Requirements

Volunteers support patient care and assist hospital staff with important tasks. Specific opportunities vary by location. Every act of service makes a big difference. We will work to help you find the best volunteer opportunity for your skills and interest.

Based on the location, some opportunities are available for 16- to 17-year-olds, with more and different opportunities to choose from once you are 18 years of age or older. All volunteers must pass a background check.
