The Froedtert Hospital College Volunteer Program is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a career in health care to gain valuable experience in a hospital environment, while making a positive impact on patients, visitors and staff.
The Details
- Students who are at least 18 years old and enrolled at a college or university pursuing a health care-related field are encouraged to apply.
- Students must be able to commit to volunteering for four hours, one day a week, (Monday through Friday) for the full semester.
- New applications for the fall semester will be accepted beginning mid-April. Applications for the spring semester will be accepted beginning mid-October.
- Students must complete all volunteer onboarding and orientation requirements.
- Most college student volunteers serve on inpatient floors performing non-clinical tasks to provide comfort and improve the patients’ experience. They also complete tasks for staff.
- Students are welcome to stay once the semester-long, 60-hour commitment is met, without reapplying to the program.
