Volunteers have been serving Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital since the hospital doors opened in 1964. Today, over 200 well-trained volunteers serve the hospital in almost every department and raise over $100,000 that support the patient care experience. 

Volunteering at the hospital is very rewarding, and we have many different areas to choose from based on hospital needs as well as your interests. We enthusiastically welcome individuals of all backgrounds and abilities to become a volunteer. 

We make sure every volunteer is prepared to care for our patients and support our staff with an in-depth application and onboarding process. Therefore, volunteers are expected to commit at least 12 months of service or 50 volunteer hours and be 18 years of age.

• Gift shop: If you enjoy being busy and interacting with people, this is the role for you! Volunteers stock merchandise, greet customers and ring up sales while providing a welcoming experience for patients, visitors and staff. Proceeds from the Gift Shop support hospital programs and services.
• Cookie sale volunteer: If you enjoy socializing, baking and working as part of a team, this is the role for you! Volunteers learn to operate the register, prepare and bake cookies and provide friendly service to patients, visitors and staff while supporting a hospital fundraiser.
• Friendly visitor: Make a meaningful difference by providing companionship to patients who could use a friendly face. Volunteers visit with patients, offer conversation and support and share items from our comfort carts to help brighten their day.
• Veteran Visitor: Connect with veteran patients by offering companionship, conversation and gratitude for their service. Volunteers visit with veterans, provide comfort items with a veteran theme and help make their hospital stay a little brighter.
• Pamela Parker Outreach Clinic volunteers: Help support a fully volunteer-run clinic serving uninsured and underinsured patients. Opportunities are available for volunteers with and without medical backgrounds, offering a variety of ways to make a meaningful impact in the community.

• Town Hall Health Center greeter: Be the welcoming face of the clinic by greeting patients and visitors with a smile and helping them find their way to their appointments. This role is perfect for volunteers who enjoy interacting with people and creating a positive first impression.
• Special events: Support a variety of hospital and community events throughout the year, including blood drives, Nothing Bundt Cakes sales, holiday sales, Nutman sales, flu vaccine clinics, well-being fairs and more. This flexible role is perfect for volunteers who enjoy helping at different events while supporting hospital programs and fundraising efforts.
• Master gardener: Help maintain a beautiful healing garden that provides a place for patients, families and staff to think, pray, grieve, hope, give thanks and remember. Volunteers work together during the spring, summer and fall months to plant, weed and keep the garden looking its best every Thursday.
• Facility Services assistant (grounds pick-up): Help keep the hospital campus clean, safe and welcoming by assisting with grounds pickup while driving a golf cart. This active role is perfect for volunteers who enjoy being outdoors and making a visible difference in the hospital environment.
• Emergency Department stocker: Support the Emergency Department by stocking supplies, organizing inventory and assisting with special projects. This behind-the-scenes role helps ensure staff have the resources they need to provide excellent patient care.
• Catholic communion minister: Support the spiritual needs of Catholic patients by distributing communion to Catholic patients at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital who express a wish to receive the Eucharist.
• Comfort dog volunteer: Bring comfort and support to patients, families and staff alongside your registered therapy dog. Volunteers must have a dog that has passed health, obedience and temperament evaluations and is registered with a nationally recognized therapy dog program.
• Froedtert Finder: Help patients and visitors navigate the hospital by providing directions and escorting them to their destinations when needed. This role is perfect for friendly volunteers who enjoy interacting with people and helping create a welcoming experience.
• Digital navigator: Help patients get the most out of MyChart by introducing them to MyChart Bedside, a feature that allows patients to view their daily schedule, care team information and important updates in real time. Volunteers provide guidance and support to help patients feel comfortable using this digital tool during their hospital stay.
• Mail room volunteer: Help ensure important mail reaches the right place by sorting and distributing mail throughout the hospital. Volunteers assist with delivering mail to departments and locating recipients, helping keep hospital operations running smoothly.
