Caring for the Individual WomanNo two women are alike. Every patient in the Breast Cancer Program receives care and treatment tailored to her unique situation. We offer innovative breast-conserving surgeries, advanced approaches to radiation treatment, expertise in the latest drug therapies and sophisticated breast reconstruction procedures.
In the Breast Cancer Program, the care experience is built around you. Our physician specialists work as a team to provide each patient with a comprehensive treatment plan. And our new patient coordinator and nurse coordinator make sure you get all the appointments, tests, services and support you need. |

The Breast Cancer Program, like each of our cancer programs, includes a hub nurse coordinator, working closely with a new patient coordinator, makes sure patients get all the appointments, tests, treatments, services and support they need. Patients benefit from completely coordinated treatment and a seamless care experience.
The Breast Cancer Program is one of 13 disease-specific programs at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center.

One Place for Complete ServicesServices available at the Breast Care Center include screening, diagnosis, treatment, nutritional counseling and more. Women also have access to our Breast Cancer Cognitive Evaluation Services, which specialize in helping cancer patients cope with cognitive, behavioral and emotional changes that may be caused by their disease and/or treatment.
The Clinical Cancer Center's hub model builds the entire care experience around patients. Dedicated program coordinators answer questions, address concerns, coordinate treatment and help you along in your journey.

Full Team of Breast Cancer SpecialistsThe physicians and staff of the Breast Cancer Program devote their practice to caring for women with breast disease. They understand the complexity and variety of breast malignancies, and they are completely up-to-date on the latest therapies and treatment approaches.
Our team of physician specialists includes surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast imaging specialists, pathologists and plastic surgeons. The program also includes breast cancer nurse practitioners —clinical nurse specialists who focus on the needs of women with breast cancer, board certified genetic counselors, and registered dietitians and social workers who specialize in helping cancer patients.

A Leading Research CenterPhysicians in the Breast Cancer Program are national and international leaders in efforts to understand breast cancer and develop more effective treatments. (A selection of their research work is available in our Academic and Physician-Authored Publications section.) Because of their dedication to scientific research, our physicians are able to offer patients the very latest advances in breast cancer treatment. Their active involvement in national clinical trials gives many women access to promising investigational therapies.

Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Breast Center has been accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), an initiative of the American College of Surgeons that recognizes organizations offering the highest level of quality care in breast health. The Breast Care Center at Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin is also recognized by the American College of Radiology (ACR) as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. With this accreditation, you can be sure you are in a facility that meets standards for imaging quality and safety. Our facility has voluntarily gone through a vigorous review process to ensure that we meet nationally accepted standards of care. The ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy). Our staff are well-qualified through education and certification to perform medical imaging, interpret your images and administer any radiation therapy treatments. Our equipment is appropriate for the test or treatment you will receive, and our facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.
Helping Women Understand Their Real RiskWomen concerned about their risk of developing breast cancer can receive a thorough risk evaluation and a customized breast health plan through our Breast Cancer High Risk Assessment Service.
