Patient Convenience

At our cancer centers, patients see medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, often during the same visit. Specialists see patients in the same clinical area and work together to develop treatment plans.

The Power of Collaboration

Cancer Network specialists convene weekly for cancer conferences, meetings that bring together specialists to discuss a patient’s care plan or any issues that crop up. Specialists may include radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, research coordinators and often primary care doctors and others.

For the fifth year in a row, our Cancer Network has been recognized by Press Ganey for sustaining the highest standards in patient experience. As a 2022 Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award® winner, we scored in the 95th percentile in Press Ganey’s national database of 41,000 organizations — the largest database for patient experience measures.

Seamless Transitions

Some patients may be able to receive all of their care within or near their own community, while others may need specialized testing or complex surgeries available only at the academic medical center, the Clinical Cancer Center at Froedtert Hospital campus. They may then return to their community location for continuing and follow-up care.

The same electronic medical record is used at Froedtert Hospital, Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital, Froedtert West Bend Hospital, Moorland Reserve Health Center and Drexel Town Square Health Center to ensure smooth collaboration of care. The Cancer Center at St. Catherine's Medical Center will implement the electronic medical record system in 2020.

Extensive Services

The Cancer Network offers 14 disease-specific programs and on-site resources such as nutritional support, genetic counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psycho-social support, oncology nursing, palliative care and survivorship planning. (Support resources may vary by location.) At each location, patients receive the benefit of multiple expert opinions and individualized treatment plans. Ancillary services that are critical to the care of the whole patient are also available.

Cutting-Edge Resources

One of the advantages of the Cancer Network is the high-quality care no matter where you are treated. Because the Cancer Network includes an academic medical center, patients have access to clinical trials and the expertise of physicians who are also researchers doing state-of-the-art research, teaching the next generation of physicians and implementing the newest approaches for our patients.
