Our program conducted a clinical study of InTone®, a medical device that treats female urinary incontinence. The study evaluated its effectiveness in women with stress incontinence, urge incontinence or mixed (stress AND urge) incontinence.

InTone is a vaginal device which uses biofeedback and electrical stimulation of pelvic floor muscles to help pelvic floor muscle training.

The women completed an InTone session with possible increases in electrical stimulation at every visit. At the end of 12 weeks of InTone usage, there were significant objective and subjective decreases in urinary incontinence as determined by pad tests, bladder diaries and questionnaire results.

Froedtert & MCW physicians conduct clinical research trials and other studies that continually enhance the quality of health care in Wisconsin and beyond. Our physicians have been part of many scientific discoveries of new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat disease. Patients benefit from new life-saving drugs, medical devices and breakthrough surgical techniques.
