Diagnosis: Breast Cancer

Marloe grew up in Verona, Wis. Along with her parents and older brother, she spent much of her time outdoors on their seven-acre farmette. Animals, fresh veggies and roaming around the woods and creek were all staples of her childhood.

She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She began her career as an RN on an inpatient unit at UW Hospital, working with hematology, oncology, bone marrow transplant and palliative care patients. Within a few years, she transitioned to outpatient oncology care, working as an RN in the Carbone Cancer Center in both the Chemotherapy Clinic and the Gynecology/Oncology Clinic. During this time, she also studied for and received certification as an oncology certified nurse (OCN). Outside of her RN role, she provided services as a certified Birth Doula, working with women and their families during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Marloe and her husband moved to Milwaukee in 2013 for her husband's career. Currently, she works as an RN in the chemotherapy clinic at the Clinical Cancer Center at Froedtert Hospital. When she is not at work, Marloe enjoys reading, writing, guitar, crafting and volunteering as an RN sexual health speaker at the PEARLS for Teen Girls organization in Milwaukee. She lives with her husband and their cat, Princess, in Bay View.

Marloe's passion for women's health and wellness has intensified with her recent diagnosis of breast cancer, at age 29. Despite her professional experience in oncology, traveling through the cancer world was mystifying and lonely. Finally on the upswing of her treatment, she is continually looking for ways to support others who are facing this incredibly personal journey.
