The former United Hospital System is now Froedtert South and part of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. Froedtert South continues to operate as a locally led organization and retains its current health system departments, administrative services and insurance contracts. Visit for more information.

Help Understanding Your Bill

The care you receive at a Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin site may be provided by two separate organizations. Professional services are billed by The Medical College of Wisconsin. Facility fees such as supplies, equipment, and support staff are billed by the hospitals. Therefore, the hospitals and The Medical College of Wisconsin are required to submit separate claims to insurance carriers. In order to provide a clear and simple patient billing experience, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin accounts are listed together on one patient statement.

(Please note that you may still receive separate statements for Medical College Physician accounts with dates of service prior to Dec. 1, 2018.)

Financial Assistance

The Financial Assistance Program is designed to assist patients who are unable to pay their hospital and/or professional bills. Patients who qualify for the program will receive care with no obligation or discounted obligation to pay for services. A simple application must be completed in order to apply for the Financial Assistance Program.

Financial Counselors

Financial counselors are available to answer your questions regarding programs for which you may qualify if you are uninsured or underinsured. They can help you determine if you are eligible for financial assistance programs and will provide you with the necessary information to apply for those programs.
