Phase III Prospective Randomized Trial Of Primary Lung Tumor Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy Followed By Concurrent Mediastinal Chemoradiation For Locally Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Protocol No
NRG-LU008
Phase
III
Summary

This study is being done to answer the following questions:
Can we help you live longer and can we delay the time without your cancer getting worse by giving high dose radiation therapy directly to your lung tumor – a technique called Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy or SBRT – before the usual treatment with radiation therapy and chemotherapy?
We are doing this study because we want to find out if this approach is better or worse than the usual approach for your lung cancer. The usual approach is defined as care most people get for locally-advanced non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be removed with surgery.

Description
Testing the addition of high dose, targeted radiation to the usual treatment for locally advanced inoperable non-small cell lung cancer
