Cancer Center Features

The Cancer Center at Moorland Reserve Health Center offers hematology and oncology care for patients with blood cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, as well benign blood diseases. Treatments with infused therapies such as chemotherapy are available here.

Moorland Reserve Health Center's cancer services make it easy for you to receive some daily or weekly treatments like chemotherapy close to home. Highly specialized treatments, such as blood and marrow transplant or cellular therapies, including clinical trials, are available at the Clinical Cancer Center on the Froedtert Hospital campus.

Because our physicians are part of the Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network, patients have access to an entire team of experts who can support them through the physical, emotional and economic issues that may arise with cancer and its treatment.

  • Psycho-Oncology Services. Our clinical nurse specialist helps patients and their families cope with emotions related to the diagnosis and treatment, such as anxiety, depression, frustration and anger. She offers counseling, assists with family conflicts related to the diagnosis, and can prescribe medications if needed.
     
  • Cancer Genetic Assessment. A specially trained, certified genetic counselor helps patients and family understand their risk of developing inherited forms of cancer.
     
  • Social Services. Social workers are available to help cancer patients access community and other resources and receive the support they need.
     
  • Nutrition Services. Oncology-certified nutrition experts assess and recommend solutions to nutrition problems, create customized eating plans, and support cancer patients in maintaining better health throughout treatment and recovery.
     

  • Physical and Occupational Therapy. Rehabilitation provided by experienced physical and occupational therapists is an important part of the comprehensive care for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Rehabilitation focuses on improving quality of life and functional independence in mobility, safety and activities of daily living after cancer treatment.

Exceptionally good experience.
We were very happy with the process of getting in to see Dr Atallah as soon as possible upon my diagnosis. Dr Atallah was exceptional, as was the staff for scheduling and registration.
I saw Dr Field at the Moreland rd facility, he and his nurse were very helpful to me and took the time to answer my questions and explained in detail how I should proceed with my medications.

I'm very grateful for Dr Longo and his staff and the cancer infusion staff. As a retired nurse myself I know more than the average person and appreciate the knowledge, professionalism and care that the staff here exhibits. This is my first time getting chemo and they've all been very attentive
