Laser hair removal offers you a better, permanent, solution to removing unwanted body hair when compared to waxing, plucking or shaving. Using the latest technology, laser hair removal uses heat to damage the papilla in the bottom of the hair shaft so that it can no longer produce hair. Laser hair removal is only effective on dark hair.
At FORME Aesthetic and Vein Center, we use gold-standard LightSheer® DUET™ laser, which includes two wavelength 805 nm diode hair removal technologies on one versatile platform. The state-of-the-art diode laser offers your provider two handpiece choices depending on your needs.
- The LightSheer High Speed handpiece uses breakthrough vacuum assisted technology in combination with diode laser light to allow rapid and comfortable treatment of large areas. The vacuum assisted technology gently draws skin into the handpiece, so the skin is stretched thin and the target is pulled closer to the energy source. The laser’s energy is applied directly to the target area.
- The LightSheer ET™ handpiece with ChillTip® cooling for smaller areas. ChillTip works by cooling the skin before and during treatment, to reduce any pain or discomfort.
Our team has extensive training and experience with laser hair removal and the LightSheer Duet laser. We provide a thorough treatment to make sure you get the results you need.
Areas Treated by Laser Hair Removal
We can permanently remove hair from all areas of the body, except for under the eyebrows. The advanced technology reduces pain while increasing efficacy, enabling fast and comfortable treatments. The most common areas we treat for women are underarms, bikini line and areas on the face, while the most common areas of treatment for men is the back.
What to Expect at a Laser Hair Removal Treatment
At FORME, we start with a consultation to discuss your desired outcome and areas of hair removal. Most patients can be treated the same day if they are a candidate, and they have not tweezed, waxed or used a depilatory in the last four weeks. The hair must be in the follicle for the laser to see it.
Your provider will shave the area, if you haven't shaved it already. Then she will gently move the wand over the treatment area, pausing as the wand treats each section of skin. Laser hair removal appointments range from 15 minutes for a smaller area like upper lip or chin, to 30-45 minutes for legs or back.
Laser hair removal is permanent. Once the hair is gone from the targeted it is gone for good. It is always possible, however, to grow new hair.
How Many Laser Hair Removal Treatment Sessions Will I Need?
Laser hair removal takes multiple treatments because not all hairs are in the same stage at the same time. The hair must be in the active and growing or resting stage for the papilla to be damaged.
The number of sessions needed for permanent hair removal depends on the area and type of hair. The total number of sessions can range from six to 12 with most patients falling somewhere in the middle.
Treatments are spaced out to occur about every five to six weeks. It's important to get treatments on a regular schedule to achieve the best long-term results. You may need more sessions if your treatment schedule fluctuates.

We offer a variety of packages designed to meet your individual needs. Call us for pricing on our treatment packages.
Recovery Time After Laser Hair Removal
There is no downtime following laser hair removal treatment. The area being treated is heated during treatment, but cooled prior to the end of your appointment.
Laser hair removal side effects are most often minor, with the most common being redness and swelling around the hair follicle for some patients.
Depending on the area treated, our team does not suggest working out the same day. In addition, sun exposure on the area treated should be limited for two weeks.
