The PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics program will prepare residents to assume the role of a pharmacy informaticist. Projects and longitudinal activities will relate to the resident’s interest in pharmacy informatics and technology. The resident will be exposed to electronic health record management (inpatient, ambulatory and oncology), automation and operational administration, medication management and smart pump analytics, medication safety applied to technology, design and human factors, clinical decision support, operational reporting and analytics, and informatics administration.

Residents will:

  • Complete a certification for Epic Willow Inpatient.
  • Have exposure to multiple informatics teams.
  • Have opportunities to precept residents and APPE students on pharmacy informatics rotation.
  • Be encouraged to pursue external publications and presentations.

Upon graduation, residents are prepared for roles in a variety of health care related informatics disciplines. Our pharmacy informatics team supports medication use throughout a regional health network composed of an academic medical center, two community hospitals and nearly 40 primary and specialty care health centers and clinics.
