Donor Coordinator gives kidney in hopes to help her mother who isn't a match
From TMJ4 — Tanya Anderson is a living donor coordinator at Froedtert Hospital. Tanya's mom has been in need of a kidney. Tanya isn't her mothers match, but she had surgery on March 13 to donate a kidney to someone else. Her mom received a voucher and when she is ready, the national kidney registry will identify what donors match her. When asked why she would tell people to donate, Tanya said the ability to help someone is beyond what she could've imagined.
Wisconsin could see more wildfire smoke this summer. How has the state prepared?

"We see a rise in ER visits, hospitalizations, and actually an increase in cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke." Living organ donation, bike ride to raise awareness: 'Urgent need'

He plans to ride around the Midwest — covering four states and roughly 1,200 miles. From Greater Milwaukee Today — The Froedtert & MCW health network hopes to open an 8,100-square-foot facility at the former Cedarburg BMO Harris Bank on Columbia Road. The facility will have 12 exam rooms and an on-site laboratory. Patients will be able to connect with care teams at this location for pediatrics and internal medicine services.

Whooping cough impacting Wisconsin communities

Whooping cough, known formally as pertussis, is characterized by prolonged coughing that leaves patients gasping for air. Mary Beth Graham, Froedtert & MCW infectious disease physician, explained that — while the disease is most severe in infants and young children — it can also be fairly serious in older children and adults.
Froedtert to open new primary care clinic on Milwaukee's east side in early 2025
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network plans to open a new primary care clinic on Milwaukee's east side early next year. The project, called Lafayette Clinic, would be located at 2071 N. Summit Ave., and is meant to expand access to primary care and obstetrical and gynecological care for people on the east side, according to a press release issued Monday.

From Becker's Hospital Review — Newsweek has released its third annual list of best maternity hospitals in the U.S. The magazine collaborated with Statista, a global data and business intelligence portal, to compile the ranking, which assigns either a four-or-five-star ribbon to hospitals. Five-star ribbon performance is the highest rating category on the list. Froedtert Hospital was among 168 hospitals that received the five-ribbon ranking from Newsweek, organized by state.
