Froedtert & MCW hospitals, physicians and medical programs are recognized regularly through national and local awards. These awards confirm our commitment to world-class care and are a tribute to our dedicated doctors, nurses and staff.
Members of our health network earn awards for outstanding patient care, excellent physicians and staff, and for providing the best possible work environment. We generally list our awards in the following categories.
These awards recognize our hospitals and health network members from a general perspective for characteristics such as clinical excellence, superior performance and patient preference. Our recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hospitals list is an example of what we consider an "organization award."

Froedtert Health was named a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion, earning a top score on the 2020 Disability Equality Index® (DEI) for outstanding commitment to disability inclusion practices. The Association of ERGs & Councils recognized Froedtert Health in its 2020 Diversity Impact Awards for developing a strategy and structure to ensure that diversity and inclusion touches every aspect of our organization. Every one of our Froedtert & MCW imaging locations is recognized as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) by the American College of Radiology (ACR). At a DICOE facility, patients receive the highest levels of imaging quality, safety and care. The DICOE program is an achievement that goes beyond accreditation to recognize the best in quality imaging practices and diagnostic care. This includes a comprehensive assessment of the entire medical imaging enterprise, including structure and outcomes. This award formally recognizes our ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality medical imaging.
The Froedtert & MCW Cancer Network is a 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award® winner. This award honors organizations that have reached the 95th percentile for patient experience, engagement or clinical quality performance.
The American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Forum recognized Froedtert & MCW health network as a "most wired hospital" in its 19th Annual Health Care’s Most Wired survey. The survey is an industry barometer measuring information technology use and adoption among hospitals nationwide.
The Froedtert Health Anticoagulation Clinic passed the Anticoagulation Forum assessment program and earned the designation as an Anticoagulation Center of Excellence. The rigorous assessment gave us the chance to measure our practice against five key areas of patient care. We have anticoagulation clinic locations at Froedtert Hospital, Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital.
Doctor, Nurse and Staff Awards
Some awards recognize the achievement and excellence of our physicians, nursing staff and other care providers. For example, more than 300 physicians who practice with Froedtert & MCW health network were selected by their peers as the Best Doctors in America®. Other awards in this category recognize excellence in the practice of medicine – in nursing care, for example.
